Front Porch Cohousing, Inc. ("Front Porch Cohousing," "we," "us," or "our") is a Pennsylvania 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our website at frontporchcohousing.org (the "Site") and individuals who contact us, express interest in our communities, or support our mission.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices you have regarding your information. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

Information You Provide Directly

  • Contact information (name, email address, phone number, mailing address) submitted through our contact, interest, or inquiry forms
  • Donation and payment information submitted through our donation platform (processed by our payment processor; we do not store full payment card numbers)
  • Correspondence you send to us by email or through the Site
  • Information submitted through our "Express Interest" or "Schedule a Conversation" forms

Information Collected Automatically

  • Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL, date and time of visit)
  • Cookies and similar technologies used to maintain session state and improve site functionality (see Section 5)

Information from Third Parties

We use Bloomerang, a donor management platform, to manage donor records, gift processing, and communications with supporters. Information you provide when donating or signing up for updates may be stored in Bloomerang in accordance with their privacy policy, available at bloomerang.co/privacy-policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and requests
  • Process donations and issue tax receipts
  • Send you updates about our communities, capital campaign, and mission (only if you have opted in)
  • Improve the content and functionality of the Site
  • Comply with legal obligations, including nonprofit reporting requirements
  • Protect the security and integrity of the Site

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information with:

  • Service providers who assist us in operating the Site and conducting our mission (e.g., Bloomerang for donor management, email delivery services), under confidentiality agreements
  • Legal authorities when required by law, court order, or governmental regulation
  • Successor organizations in the event of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of substantially all of our assets, subject to the same privacy commitments

We do not share your personal information with other nonprofits, commercial partners, or mailing list brokers without your explicit consent.

5. Cookies

The Site uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to maintain session state and improve your experience. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. You may disable cookies in your browser settings; however, some Site functionality may be affected.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal obligations, and support our nonprofit mission. Donor records are retained in accordance with IRS and Pennsylvania nonprofit record-keeping requirements.

7. Your Choices

  • Email communications: You may unsubscribe from our email list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.
  • Access and correction: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you by contacting us at the address below.
  • Do Not Track: Our Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
